Patrick Reynolds, director of public programs at the Oneida County History Center, will speak at a J.C.C. library talk on Tuesday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m. His topic: “Utica Shoes: Who Knew?”In his presentation, Reynolds addresses the overlooked industry of shoemaking in Utica, its connection to the leather industry in the Mohawk Valley and to other national trends.Reynolds earned a bachelor’s degree in American History from SUNY Oneonta and a master’s degree in museum studies from SUNY Oneonta Cooperstown Graduate program. He’s worked at various museums, including the Hanford Mills Society, the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Admission to a library talk is free for center members and $5 for nonmembers. Reservations are due by Friday, May 15.
