We are proud to have The Kelberman Center as part of our preschool programming. The Promise Program provides instruction to children with autism. This classroom model is the first of its kind in our region, putting into practice the latest research developments on the most effective educational treatment approaches in early childhood special education. This model is an opportunity for Kelberman students to get close supervision and intense teaching combined with frequent and ongoing opportunities to be included with their typically-developing peers. This partnership also benefits our J.C.C. students because the latest research shows that when children with disabilities are included in early childhood classrooms, typically-developing children show improved cognitive, language and social development. We are fortunate to partner with the Kelberman Center for this wonderful opportunity to broaden our students’ educational experience.
