*Letter to PRESCHOOL FAMILIES from Executive Director*

April 29, 2020

Dear J.C.C. Preschool Parents,
All of us here at the J.C.C. sincerely hope that you and your families are well during this
extraordinary time in our nations history.  As you know, due to directives from New York
State we were required to close our Preschool as of Monday, March 16, 2020, and we still
await guidance as to when we can reopen safely.  As of today, schools may reopen on May 18,
but, unfortunately, this seems unlikely.

The Jewish Community Center understands that our Preschool families have paid for weeks of
programming which we were not able to provide for your children.  We also understand that the
current situation has caused financial hardship for many of us. With this in mind, the
J.C.C. board is developing appropriate measures to make sure each of our families are treated
fairly while ensuring that our Preschool will be able to reopen when it is safe to do so. This will
likely come in the form of pro-rata credits toward your school bill for next year, or a
reimbursement check to those who will not be returning to us due to graduation or some other
important reason.

Each and every child and family we serve in our Preschool program is very important to us, and I
assure you that you will receive compensation for the time you missed.  We expect to learn in the
next couple of weeks whether the school year will resume or if it will be cancelled.  As soon as
we hear something, you will receive another letter informing you as to how we will proceed.
Thank you for your patience.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at any time.  Victor Pearlman, (315) 725-
0900. Wishing you all only good health and the strength necessary to get through this
exceedingly difficult time.
Sincerely,

Victor Pearlman
